Illegal buildings regularization scheme

Andhra Pradesh State Government has decided to regularize buildings constructed in government lands across the State.

The State Cabinet Sub-committee has in principle has decided to this effect. January 1, 2014 has been fixed as the cutoff date. Building constructed in a maximum of 500 sq. yards will be regularized.

The committee recommended January 1, 2014 as the cut-off date for regularization. The government will collect 65 per cent of the market price from those falling under the 100 to 150 square yards category , 75 percent for plots up to 250 square yards and 100 percent for plots above 250 square yards.

An official notification will be issued after the government takes a final call and the applications will be accepted within 90 days from the date of notification. All applications have to addressed within 120 days.

The amounts of the eligible ones can be paid in four phases. Those who fail to submit for regularization, the buildings of such will be taken over by the government, recommended the Cabinet sub-committee to the government.

Earlier, the government announced that it would regularise encroachments on plots less than 100 square yards free of cost.
