The cyclonic storm ‘Gaja’ is very likely to intensify further into a severe one during the next 24 hours according to IMD.
According to them, it will cross the Tamil Nadu coast between Cuddalore and Pamban as a cyclonic storm during November 15 afternoon. Heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in Prakasam and Nellore districts on November 14. Under the influence of the cyclonic storm, strong surface winds from north easterly direction, with speed reaching 45 to 55 km per hour are likely along and of coastal Andhra Pradesh.
According to them, the sea is likely to be rough to very rough from November 14 morning and high from November 14 night along and off south coastal Andhra Pradesh. The Cyclone Warning Centre has advised the fishermen not to venture in the sea. Meanwhile, Chief Minister has directed the District Collectors of coastal districts to keep close watch and be on alert on the cyclone developing in the Bay of Bengal
