Of the 15,000 passes issued for the seating arrangement on either side of the Prime Minister’s dias, 5,300 are given to the district administration for protocol and other duties. All the passes are non-transferable and Aadhaar based seating for the additional 10,000 is being arranged said the District Collector Dr. N.Yuvaraj.
The District Collector said that 1.4 lakh red and blue passes for standing on the beach side are being issued through ‘Mee Seva’ centres and of them 90,000 have already been issued. Those having the passes will be able to witness operation on February 7 but have to watch the International City Parade on CCTVs.
Andhra Pradesh HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao giving details of the IFR said that it will be from February 4 to 8 would comprise of 12 events. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the review by laying a wreath at the War Memorial on Beach Road and later the Maritime Exhibition and IFR Village at AU Engineering College grounds. He said that Governor ESL Narasimhan and the Chief Minister will participate in the opening ceremony on February 6 at Naval Stadium.
President Pranab Mukherjee will review the fleet off RK Beach on February 6 from 9 am to 11.45am He will also be the chief guest at the Naval Bank and at Samudrika Auditorium and banquet at Eastern Naval Command.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will witness the Operation Demonstration form 5.30pm to 6pm on February 7 and the International City Parade from 6.20pm to 6.28pm and in the reception hosted by the Chief of Naval Staff from 7.15pm to 9.30pm.
Defence Minister Manohar Parikar will participate in the international maritime conference on February 7 and the closing ceremony will take place from 7p0m to 9.30pm at the Naval Institute on February 8 and passage exercise and sail in company on February 9.
Holiday declared to schools: Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that schools at GVMC limits will be closed on February 4 in view of the inauguration of IFR. He said that the decision was taken in view of the likely traffic problems.
