Demo rehearsals held today kept the spectators spell bound and it will continue for the next two days. With fighter jets appearing form nowhere and gaining height in no time, a dummy target being hit and rescue operations from helicopters, commandos coming down by parachutes and the culmination with a good number of ships firing flares and illuminating simultaneously the action-packed rehearsal held everyone spellbound. INS Vikramaditya and INS Virat are among the 29 warships that participated in the rehearsals. INS Vikramaditya launched MIG 29K and INVS Virat, Sea Hariers.
Maritime Exhibition from February 2, 2016::
Maritime Exhibition and IFR Village would be open from February 2 to 10. The IFR Village is coming up a the AU Engineering College Grounds and would have over 100 stalls displaying handicrafts including live stalls of sari weaving and bamboo work, food court featuring traditional food from across the country apart from folk and cultural performances. There would be stalls of PSUs and private firms.
The IFR Village would have day performances of art forms like Bahurupi, Pupet show, Rangoli, Kalbeliya, panch Vadya, Shiva Mudra from different States. There would be classical dances like Kthakali and Kuchipudi among others. The exhibition is open to public from February 2 except on February 4 for one hour in the evening. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu would officially inaugurate it on February 6 for the visit of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
