A social activist Raft Jamaal filed a case against the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Lucknow. In her petition, she sought legal action against the actor the statement that showed disrespect to rape victims and revived the ugly memories of such heinous crimes.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate has asked the petitioner to prove by why and how the matter is maintainable in a court. In another development, an advocate Manoj Kumar Dixit has filed a petition in the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in Kanpur seeking action against the actor saying that freedom of express does not allow sentiments to be hurt.
Demands Rs.10 crore:: The Hisar gangrape victim has demanded Rs.10 crore from him for his rape comment. The victim sent a notice to the actor through Panjab and Haryana High Court advocate Rajat Kalsan in which she stated that her image was tarnished due to public remark. By issuing this legal notice on behalf of my client, I demand a compensation of Rs 10 crore to my client within 15 days after the receipt of this notice, otherwise I have the instruction of my client to file civil and criminal cases against you for the aforesaid violation of civil and criminal law read the notice.
It may be recalled here that the Bollywood Actor Salman Khan said that he felt like a raped woman...he could barely stand straight after the shoot in the movie Sultan. The statement invited sharp rebuke on social media and his father, writer Salim Khan soon apologized on behalf of his son and admitted that the statement was in bad taste.
