High Court strikes down the suspension of students of HCU-tension prevails on the campus

The Hyderabad High Court has today struck down the Hyderabad Central University suspending the five students of whom one a Ph.D student Rohit committed suicide. It may be recalled that the University has already lifted the suspension on the students. The court directed to lift all the cases slapped on the students.

Heavy security posted in view of Chalo HCU call

In the back drop of the call ‘Chalo HCU’ demanding justice to Ph.D student Rohit who committed suicide that sent heatwaves across the country, the police over 1500 have intensified the security on the premises. The police are not allowing anyone outside persons in the premises. Political leaders including Student Union leaders from outside were denied entry into the premises to avert any untoward incidents. The police also stopped two ministers from Maharashtra who had come down to express solidarity to the agitating students. Only persons with valid ID cards are allowed inside and it is estimated that over 10,000 students are expected to participate ‘Chalo HCU’ call. The grandson of Dr.Ambedkar Prakash Ambedkar, Planning Commission Member and Rajya Sabha member Balachandra Mungekar, JNTU Assistant Professor Meena Kanda Swamy, Prof. Hara Gopal and others are expected to participate.
