Sunday, April 23, 2017

In a big bolt to Chandrababu Naidu government, the High Court ordered status quo on the forcing land acquisition from the villagers of Penumaka village.

The High Court has given a big relief to the villagers who were fighting against forceful land acquisition in the name of construction of State Capital. The High Court made it clear that the government should take into consideration of the Land Acquisition Act of 2013 along with SES and also obtain the objections of the farmers. The judgement was delivered by Justice Akula Venkata Sesha Sai on Monday.

It may be recalled that 251 farmers have filed petitions separately challenging the notification issued on April 11, 2017.

The arguments were put forth by Ponnuvolu Sudhakar Reddy on behalf of the petitioners while D.Ramesh, SGD on behalf of the government. Justice Venkata Sesha Sai after hearing the arguments has issued status quo orders.
