The Division Bench of Hyderabad High Court on Friday dismissed the appeal filed by Karem Sivaji and the Andhra Pradesh State Government challenging the judgement of a single judge.

The Division Bench comprising of Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Ambati Shankar Narayan dismissing the appeals filed by Karem Sivaji and AP government upheld the orders of the single judge. Justice Ramachandra Rao in its order on November 14 last year while dismissing the appointment of Karem Sivaji as the Chairman of the Corporation , suggested the government to appoint the Chairman of SC, ST Commission by inviting applications including Supreme Court and High Court retired judges, government employees. The Division Bench faulted the suggestion of the single judge when pointed out by Advocate General Dummalapai Srinivas that there is no such provision in the constitution.

It may be recalled that J.Prasad Babu, an advocate from East Godavari filed a petition challenging the appointment of Karem Sivaji as the Chairman of SC, ST Commission. The High Court quashes the appointment of Karem Sivaji as Chairman for SC and ST Commission.
