High Court dismisses case on Ravela Susheel

The Hyderabad High Court today dismissed a case slapped by police based on a complaint by a Muslim woman stating that Ravela Susheel had misbehaved with her by dragging her holding her hand when she was on her way to home.

The petitioner has informed the court that she does not know who is Ravela Susheel. The court dismissed the case stating that the police could not produce sufficient evidence in the case. The counsel for the accused Susheel told to the court that the police has slapped incorrect and false allegations on his client and pleaded the court to dismiss the case.

It may be recalled that on March 5, 2016 Ravela Susheel, son of Andhra Pradesh Minister for Social Welfare Ravela Kishore Babu along with his driver M.Ramesh were arrested by Banjara Hills police on charges of outraging modesty of a women. The police invoked Sec.354, 354D and 509 of IPC against these two. According to police a woman who identified herself as a school teacher lodged a complaint with the police alleging that they teased her and tried to pull her into a car. Susheel and Ramesh were reportedly thrashed by a group of persons after allegedly stalked and misbehaved with the woman. Susheel has surrendered before the police. the CCTV footage on some news channels show the car slowing down near the burqa-clad woman. Perturbed by this the woman started walking faster but the car continued following her.
