High Court directs GVMC Commissioner to submit a report of vacancies

Hyderabad High Court has ordered the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Commissioner to submit a report stating the number of vacancies in the Corporation. The court ordered to file counter affidavit. The court said that after going through the report, it would direct the government to fill up the vacancies and posted the case of December 21, 2015.

Justice C.V.Nagarjuna Reddy dealing with a petition filed by Karanamreddy Kankaiah who approached the High Court to direct the GVMC to demolish the unauthorized construction at Chinagantyana by Balireddy Varahalu and Balireddy Achhilinaidu. The Justice ordered the GVMC Commissioner to appear before the court and inform of the action taken on the directions given by the court. The Commissioner appeared before the court and said that they could not identify the unauthorized constructions due to lack of staff and informed the Court that they have written to Government for filling of the vacancies. The Judge asked him to submit a report of the number of vacancies lying in the GVMC and the court would direct the concerned for filling up of the same. The judge suggested to Commissioner for establishing of a Town Planning Tribunal for speedy disposal of the cases.
