HCU students to undertake ‘Chalo Delhi’ on February 23, 2016

In protest against the indifferent attitude of the Centre over the suicide case of Rohit Vemula, a Ph.D scholar of Hyderabad Central University, students have decided to intensify their agitation.

As part of the agitation, the students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have decided to undertake a Bus Yatra in the States. As announced earlier, the scheduled ‘Chalo Delhi’ yatra is postponed to February 23 instead of February 20.

JAC Convenor Venkatesh Chuhan said that they would stage protest programmes during the Parliament sessions along with the students from various universities in the country. He said that bus yatras would be conducted from February 11 in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states. Meanwhile, relay hunger strikes are continuing at HCU. Students from Bihar have participated in the hunger strikes. Madhya Pradesh Girijan Student JAC leaders expressed solidarity to the agitating students.
