Gudivada Amaranth’s indefinite fast foiled – police shifted him to KGH

YSRCP district president Gudivada Amarnath who was on indefinite hunger fast that entered the fourth day for separate Railway Zone for Visakhapatnam was foiled by police around 10pm and forcibly shifted him to King George Hospital.

Police both in uniform and in civil dress all off sudden seized the deeksha place and shifted him forcibly in the waiting ambulance to the KGH. He is admitted in ICU where sources said is continuing his fast. All the gates leading to KGH were closed and nobody was allowed to enter in. Heavy police force was posted to avert any untoward incident. YSRCP senior leader Botcha Satyanarayana along with others went up to ICU.

It may be recalled that Amarnath was undergoing indefinite hunger fast demanding announcement of Railway Zone for Visakhapatnam from April 14. Amarnath said that he would continue the deeksha even in hospital. Doctors said that he was refusing medical aid.

Earlier in the day, YSRCP Nagari MLA Roja, Tirupati MP Varaprasad and party senior leader Botcha Satyanarayana called on the leader and extended solidarity to the fasting leader. Roja speaking on the occasion said that that TDP is purchasing the party MLAs and challenged Chandrababu to get the defected MLAs resign and get re-elected. She gave a call to the people to fight for a Railway zone for Visakhapatnam as it was a long pending demand. Varaprasad said that the promises and assurances given at the time of bifurcation could not be fulfilled as the TDP is unable to mount pressed on the Centre.
