Over six lakh applications were received as on Wednesday by the APPSC to fill up 982 Group II posts for which notification was issued on November 8, 2016.
The last date for online submission of applications comes to an end by Thursday midnight. The APPSC authorities expect more applications.
It may be recalled that the APPSC has issued notification on November 8 for 442 Executive posts and 540 non-executive posts under Group II and started accepting the applications from November 11, 2016. The last date has been fixed as December 10 but was extended to December 15 due to technical difficulties in online submission of applications.
The government has enhanced the maximum age limit from 34 years to 40 years while Telangana government has enhanced the maximum age limit to 44 years. The maximum age limit has been extended up to September 2017 to enable the unemployed to reap the age enhancement benefit. With the request from the APPSC, the government has extended the age limit by two years that is applicable to all notifications issued before the said September 2017 and will not be application to the notifications issued later on.
There is every possibility of conducting the screening test on February 26, 2017 according to the notification issued. The Commission will select the candidates in the ratio of 1:50 for 982 posts and select 49,100 candidates for the final examinations. The mains are likely to be held on May 20, 21 of 2017 according to sources.
