Grading system in Intermediate from March 2018

The Board of Intermediate Education putting an end of announcement of marks system has introduced grading system commencing from March 2017-18 academic year.

Under this system, the results would be announced under grades and grade points and no marks would be announced. The Secretary, Board of Intermediate Education B.Udaya Lakshmi today issued orders. The decision was reportedly taken following the suicides of students especially in corporate colleges pressures mounting up from the educational institutions managements. In the past three years around 70 students were reportedly committed suicide due to pressure, stress and college management’s harassment among others resulting in introduction of grading system said sources.

Meanwhile, Secretary for Municipal Administration Karikalavalavan has issued orders to continue the Telugu medium along with the English medium. It may be recalled that the Municipal Administration department has issued GO No.14 to introduce English medium right from class I to X. But in the recent Legislative Council sessions, the members raised the issue over the rationale resulting in issuing of orders to continue Telugu medium.
