Andhra Pradesh Minister for Finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the government is gearing up to issue notification to fill up 20,000 vacancies in various departments.
Replying to requests made by the BJP member P.Vishnu Kumar Raju during the passage of the Appropriation Bill for the next financial year, he said that the government would consider the demand for relaxation of the age for aspirants during the issuance of notification. He admitted that the number of vacant posts in government departments was high but the government could not take up recruitment for all vacancies due to financial situation and it has decided to take up the need based recruitment.
Yanamala Ramakrishnudu informed the House that the government had permitted the Housing Department to raise loan of over Rs.9,000 crore from the HUDCO for taking up housing programmes in urban and rural areas. It was targeted to construct 1.9 lakh houses in urban areas and another two lakh houses in the rural areas. The government had made a provision of Rs.1,130 crore for next year’s budget, he added. The government had released Rs.375 crore towards debt relief for horticulture farmers and would release another Rs.200 crore for providing relief to horticulture farmers subsequently.
