The Andhra Pradesh State Government has issued charge memos to 650 doctors in the government service.

AP Government Doctors’ Association delegation received a shock when they went to meet the Principal Secretary for Health, Medicine and Family Welfare Poonam Malakondaiah on Tuesday in Hyderabad. The Principal Secretary refused to entertain them in any way but also declined to accept the bouquet of flowers the delegation tried to give her.

As per the service norms, government doctors should first be served a memo and asked for an explanation but in the instant case, as many as 650 doctors had been issued charge memos directly on the charges of working in nursing homes and private hospitals flouting service rules. They doctors said that they were not given a change to explain their stand.
