Stage set to take action on those doctors doing private practice Health Minister announced of issuing show-cause notices to the erring doctors

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas said that the government is going to serve notice to serve notices to 600 doctors doing private practice.

The statement of the Health Minister gave a shock to those government doctors doing private practice and some of them are even maintaining nursing homes. Action will be initiated against those who are doing practice in corporate hospitals during hospital timings. The government is bringing out the report into light over doctors doing private practice.

The report that is with the government said that majority of the doctors are from RIMS, Ongole. A committee headed by Poonam Malakondaiah has in the last year submitted a report over the function of doctors to the government that reportedly said that the doctors are working in private clinics/corporate hospitals during hospital timings. The doctors have given an undertaking that they will work during specified hours in the government hospitals but the report said otherwise. Sources said that the District Collectors will be authorized to serve show-cause notices to the doctors who were violating the instructions.
