Government offers additional allowances to specialist doctors to tribal areas

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas has offered additional allowances for specialist doctors who wish to work in the tribal areas.

Speaking to media today, he said if there are no takers, doctors would be appointed on rotation basis. He said that he would discuss the ways and means to control seasonal diseases at a meeting to be conducted shortly with the Collectors and ITDA Project Officers of the three North Andhra districts in Visakhapatnam. He visited the Primary Health Centres and CHCs at Jiyymmavalasa, Kurupam and G.L.Puram mandals. He felt the need of more adequate number of medical and paramedical staff.

Giving details, he said that 1,278 positive cases for a population of 81,000 were registered in Vizianagaram as against 250 in Srikakulam . Parvathipuram MLA Bobbili Chiranjeevulu, ITDA Project Officer G.Lakshmi Sha and BJP district president were present.
