Government issues orders to form Girijan advisory committee

After a three-year long battle with the government for the formation of Girijan Advisory Committee, the State government today issued orders forming the committee.

The government has delayed the formation of the committee as the MLAs elected in ST reserve Assembly constituencies are from YSRCP. It may be recalled that YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy met the Governor ESL Narasimhan and submitted a representation seeking his intervention for formation of the committee according to the Constitution. Governor responding his representation has asked the State government questioned the delay in formation.

The committee headed by the Minister for Girijan Welfare as the chairman and seven ST MLAs and three officers will be the members. Another officer will be the secretary of the Girijan Advisory committee. The government has nominated another eight ST members and they will be in the office till the next general elections.
