The government doctors of all medical colleges in the State have decided to go on a flash strike from Tuesday alleging that the lopsided policies are affecting the career prospects of senior doctors who have been waiting for promotion since years.
A statement issued by the Andhra Pradesh Government Doctors’ Association said on Monday that the doctors will boycott selective surgeries and OP duties from Tuesday. The statement said that the striking doctors would continue to attend the emergency cases. Taking a strong exception to the G.O. issued recently, giving mandate to the direct appointment of contract doctors are RIMS and promoting them. They representatives said that the government had neglected the regular doctors who had been awaiting promotions since years. They wanted the GO revoked immediately.
The Association also demanded that the Career Advancement Scheme and time-bound promotions are implemented in letter and spirit.
