Ganta Srinivasa Rao launches drinking water scheme

AP HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao today launched a drinking water scheme funded by World Bank in Padmanabham mandal.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the scheme was aimed at providing potable water to all the households and it was constructed at a cost of Rs.19 crore. The residents of 19 villages across the mandal will be benefited, he said. HRD Minister sad that the TDP government was implementing as many as 68 welfare schemes including payment of enhanced pension to widows and aged people. An ex gratia of Rs.5 lakh under Chandranna Bhima Padakam is being paid to the family members of the people who died in lightning related incidents, road accidents and snake bite cases.

He inspected the progress of the Ghat Road that is being laid at a cost of Rs.5.69 crore for the convenience of pilgrims visiting Ananta Padmanabha Swamy temple.
