GVMC to impose Rs.500 fine for open urination

The GVMC has passed a resolution to impose penalty for open urination.

For the first violation, the fine has been fixed at Rs.500 wile the same for the second and third violations are Rs.750 and Rs.1,000 respectively. Implementing Municipal Solid Waste Management Rules 2016 and according to Swachh Bharat Mission guidelines, the GVMC has also passed a resolution of imposing penalty for non-compliance with the norms related to wet and dry waste segregation.

All households and commercial establishments should separate and put wet waste in green bins and dry waste in blue bins and hand them over to sanitary workers. Failure to do so will attract a fine of Rs.300 for the first violation which will be increased to Rs.500 and Rs.1,000 respectively for the second and third time.
