Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pravin Kumar said a number of initiatives including e-office with handholding by the IT Department, online building plan approvals, an app for self-assessment of property tax and making civil complaints are on the anvil for the New Year. He said that areas will be provided with Wi-Fi facility.
Commissioner said the online process would be launched by the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu during the partnership meet. He said after January 11, no manual applications will be accepted for the Building Plan Approvals. All details like nature of land, master plan, set back that have already been fed online will immediately sanction the approval cutting the delay. However, unapproved layouts would not get approval.
Under the Atal Mission for Urban Rejuvenation and Transformation (AMRUT), the city would get Rs.113 crore and detailed Project Report to cover cent per cent, round the clock water supply would be prepared. I-phone enabled app would also be introduced to send grievances.
Pravin Kumar said under Swacch Bharat, survey for ranking would begin on January 5 with an effort to top it and improve the earlier ranking. On the footpaths free of hawkers, he said it was a difficult job and ten vending zones were required to accommodate 12000 hawkers and funding was required.
