GITAM university Vice Chancellor M.S.Prasada Rao releasing the GAT 2017 results today said that 75,000 students had been registered and 88% appeared for the examination held at 48 centres across the country.
The Vice Chancellor said that the top 10 rankers will be exempted from tuition fee for the first year and rankers from 11-100 rank can avail 50 per cent waiver on tuition fee for the first year. GAT is held for admission into various disciplines including B.Tech, B.Pharmacy and M.Tech and M.Pharmacy courses.
The rankers can down load the counselling call letters by logging on to the website www.gitam.edu. They can appear for the counselling scheduled to begin from May 15 to 18 in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Tirupati, Vijayawada and Bengaluru.
Scholarship:: The university also provides scholarship of Rs.75,000 per annum for students of B.Tech (Aerospace Engineering) offered. This apart Rs.75,000 scholarship per annum will be offered to B.Pharmacy students and Rs.1.5 lakh scholarship per annum can be availed for M.Pharmacy programme, he said.
