Four held for aiding Maoists in the twin MLAs killing

The police have arrested four persons who allegedly collaborated with the Maoists in the killing of Araku MLA Kidari Sarveswar Rao and former MLA Siveri Soma on Sunday.

The Special Investigation Team head K.Fakkeerappa said all the four have given support to the Maoists on the movement of these two deceased leaders. The four were identified as Yedala Subba Rao for MPTC (TDP) member and resident of Dumbriguda, his wife Eswari, Gemili Sobhan and Korra Kamala. All these four were accused are former members of the Maoists frontal organization.

The police sources said that they have questioned 300 witnesses and focussed on people who had connections with the Maoists or their frontal organizations and zeroed in the four who confessed to have aided the Maoists.

The SP Rahul Dev Sharma said primarily the Koraput Division Committee of the CPI (Maoist) was involved in the operation. As per the SIT in-charge, Maoists Dasu, Jogesh and Kishore conducted a recce about a week ago and stayed in the accommodation provided by Subba Rao.
