Former bureaucrat BK Bansal along with his son commits suicide

Former bureaucrat, an officer of additional secretary rank B.K.Bansal along with his son allegedly committed suicide at his residence today on Tuesday.

Bansal’s wife Satyabala Bansal (58) and daughter Neha (27)had committed suicide by hanging themselves in July. In the suicide notes left by them stated that they felt humiliated following the raids of CBI.

Bansal was a Director General in the Corporate Affairs ministry who was arrested on July 16 on charges of corruption and accepting bribe of Rs.9 out of 20 lakhs from a company and was released on bail in August. He had been facing allegations on violations by the Mumbai based pharmaceutical company.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) found Rs.60 lakh cash, 20 property papers and 60 bank accounts during their searches at various locations.

It may be recalled here that Bansal wife and daughter committed suicide on July 19 by hanging themselves from the ceiling fans at their residence in Nilkanth Apartments. In two separate suicide letters, they stated that they were humiliated by the CBI raids and held no one responsible.
