Former Minister and TDP leader Anam Ram Narayana Reddy today joined YSRCP in the presence of party’s chief Jagan Reddy during the latter’s Praja Sankalpa Yatra at Chodavaram constituency in Visakhapatnam district.
Jagan Reddy welcomed Anam into the party by offering the party’s shawl. Speaking to media, Anam said ‘I have joined the YSRCP seeing the strong commitment of Jagan Mohan Reddy towards achieving the Special Category Status is unbelievable, and it made all heads look towards Andhra Pradesh’. Earlier, Jagan garlanded a portrait of his father and former Chief Minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy and paid rich tributes to him on the occasion of his ninth death anniversary. He also garlanded a statue of YSR arranged there along with former MLAs Karanam Dharmasri, Balireddy Satya Rao, party leaders Gudivada Amarnath, DCCB president Sukumar Varma and Dharmateja Sattireddy.
Jagan commenced his 252nd day of padayatra from Annavaram village in Chodavaram constituency. AP Teachers’ Federation leaders met Jagan and told him that they were losing several benefits on account of CPS and sought its abolition. Responding to the plea, Jagan Reddy said that he would abolish it within a week, if elected to power.
Jagan formally launched the distribution of clay Ganesha idols which were offered by Sri Ganesh puja committee. The committee plans to distribute 25,000 clay idols for the festival this year and contribute environment protection. Employees of EMRI 108 services told him of their problems. Mid-day meal scheme workers met him and sought his help in abolition of the CPS.
