Former MP Vundavalli writes to Sonia Gandhi on Reorganization Act

Tuesday, November 21, 2017

Former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar has in his letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi urged her to insist for a discussion on the implementation of AP Reorganization Act in Parliament to enable the people to know up to what extent the Centre had helped the State.

Speaking to media today, he said that he urged her to take up the discussion under Rule 184. ‘If the Centre fails to give an answer on the issue, the Congress can move a no confidence motion and the TDP and YSRCP can extended their support, he said.

On Polavaram project, he said that there are hardly 12 months for completion of the cofferdam and supply water through gravity. It is impossible to meet the deadline the State government had set for itself’, he said. If the State fails to complete the Polavaram project by 2018, it has to pay interest on NABARD loan.

Arun Kumar suggested the YSRCP to at least demand a meeting of the PAC in which the State financial and revenue issues and CAG report on Pattiseema and Polavaram could be discussed in detail.
