Former MP Chinta Mohan arrested

Police arrested former MP and Congress leader Chinta Mohan here on Sunday when he went to express solidarity with the women protesting at the Municipal Corporation Office in support of fasting Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham couple.

Chinta Mohan demanded the Chief Minister to include Kapus in the list of BCs and give 10 per cent reservations to the Kapu and Balija communities and keep up his election promise. He said that Mudragada had undertaken the indefinite fast to mount pressure the government for reservation to Kapu community.

Police said that they have arrested him as there was no permission for the protest and shifted him to the police station and later was released on bail. Police also imposed Section 30 IPC in Tirupati.
