The first ATM of Post Office Bank was inaugurated on Thursday at the Vemlampeta Head Post Office by the District Collector Dr.N.Yuvraj.
The ATM in the region covering Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts. The post office has a target of achieving cent per cent CBS coverage and 15 more ATMs would be operations in the region by the end of this month said the Region Postmaster General M.Sampath. He said India Post has a target of migrating all the 25,000 post office across the country to the CBS.. Thereafter, ATMs would be integrated with other bank networks.
Sampath said that the department is exploring options of making India Post ATMs provide more services like cash deposits. India Post has successfully adopted technology in the implementation of its three major operations – Insurance, Banking and Mail handling, he said.
