Filmmaker Rajamouli recognized with ANR National Award

Noted filmmaker Rajamouli was recognized with ANR National Award for his contributions to cinema industry on Sunday.

The award was presented to S.S.Rajamouli by the Vice-President M.Venkaiah Naidu at Shilpa Kala Vedika. Venkaiah Naidu described Rajamouli as creative while referring to the hugely popular film ‘Baahubali’. The award given away by Akkineni International Foundation seeks to recognize stalwarts in the Indian Film Industry. In the last 12 years, several noted personalities including Amitabh Bachchan, Dev Anand, Lata Mangeshkar and few others have been recognized.

Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhara Rao heaped praises on the actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao. ‘He was the doyen of Telugu film industry and left a lasting impression for many generations as he immortalized many films across social, romantic and mythological genres’, he said.
