Film Director Michael Cimino passed away

The famous Deer Hunter movie director Michael Cimino (77) passed away.

Cimino directed eight films right from 1974 with the highly rated Clint Eastwood and JeffBridges strring crime movie Thunderbold and Lightfoot, the Deer Hunter. Heaven’s Gate in 1980, Desperate Hours in 1990, The Sicilian in 1986.

In 2001, he publiched his only novel Big Jane, the story of the 1950 Korean War.

Michael Cimino born in New York city on February 3, 1939 was an American film director, screen writer, producer and author. Cimino graduated from Westbury High School on Long Island in 1956. After graduating, he entered Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. He graduated in only three years with honors and won the Harry Suffrin Advertising Award. After graduating from Yale, Cimino moved to Manhattan to work in Madison Avenue advertising and became a star director of television commercials. He shot ads for L'eggs hosiery, Kool cigarettes, Eastman Kodak, United Airlines, and Pepsi, among others.
