Exclusive railway station for State Capital Amaravati

The State Government is planning to develop an exclusive railway station for Capital city Amaravati.

The proposed railway station is expected to cater to the needs of people living in Capital city by its connectivity to all major destinations and long distance stations. The government has asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to study the possibility of developing the railway station. The metro rail will connect the Thullur and Vijayawada. The detailed Project Report will be prepared at later stage. DMRC Project Director Radhakrishna Reddy said that the proposed railway station is for connecting the Capital city with other railway stations.

The railway line from Thullur to Vijayawada will be either from Mangalagiri or Tadepalli and both routes are being examined. The survey for Guntur-Thullur line would be conducted said the DMRC Project Director. He said that another survey for Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali is also being considered.
