After LED lights, the Southern and Eastern Power Distribution Companies Ltd., and State Energy Conservation Mission are drawing an action plan for distributing energy efficient equipment to two crore households over the next two years as part of the AP Energy Star Programme.
Ajay Jain, Secretary of Energy, CRDA and Infrastructure and Investment speaking to media said that it will replace the conventional ones starting with at Narsapur in West Godavari soon. He said that AP Energy Star Programme (SEP) was a part of the energy efficiency measures being taken by the government for saving 20,000 MW in the next five years through a mix of solar and wind energy.
Ajay Jain said that out of 3.50 crore LED bulbs distributed in the country so far under DELP, 1.30 crore were given away in our State. He said that the state share percentage is 57 in the number of LED streetlights retrofitted in the country.
