The important days of the festival include Garuda Seva on September 17, Golden chariot on 18, Rathotsavam on 20 and Chakrasnanam on 21. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will make the customary presentation of a pair of ‘silk vastrams’ on behalf of the government on Thursday.
The TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal said that elaborate arrangements have been made for the grand conduct of the festival. As many as 650 high resolution CCTV cameras have been installed at all the vital points atop the town and about 3,000 police personnel have been drafted for the security duty. There shall be an additional deployment of about 1,000 police personnel for the Garuda Seva. The services of 3,000 Srivari Seva volunteers in addition to about 2,000 guides will be utilized. Body worn cameras, jackets, rain coats, finger print monitoring gadgets and the like are also been provided to the security personnel. 19 high quality display screens have been set up around the Mada Streets in addition to another 12 screens at other vital points.
The TTD has made special arrangements for Garuda Seva. About two lakh food packets will be distributed to the pilgrims waiting along the Mada streets. The apart six lakh water sachets and three lakh butter milk sachets will be procured on that day for distribution. Parking lots have been developed to accommodate about 7,000 vehicles. However, two wheelers will not be allowed to ply on the ghat road on the day of Garuda Seva.
There will be no Divya Darshan tokens on the day of Garuda Seva. Seven lakh laddus will be maintained throughout the festival period, said the Executive Officer.
