Delhi High Court gives a big relief to pharma companies

New Delhi

The Delhi High Court on Thursday has set aside the Centre’s decision to ban 344 fixed dose combination drugs including well known names like Vicks Action 500, D’ Cold and cough syrup Corex.

It may be recalled that the Centre had prohibited manufacture, sale and distribution of 344 drugs vide its notification on March 10 which was challenged by Pfizer, Glenmark, Procter and Gamble, Cipla and NGOs. The government had prohibited manufacture, sale and distribution of 344 FDC drugs and issued a gazette notification to this effect on March 10.
