Danam Nagender likely to shift to TRS

Congress senior leader Danam Nagender is likely to shift loyalties to Telangana Rashtra Samithi, according to sources.

Danam Nagender, who is a former Labour Minister, is a powerful leader with strong base in Hyderabad city. He was elected from Asifnagar assembly constituency in 1994, 1999 and 2004. He left Congress and joined TDP and after winning from Asifnagar, he resigned his seat and left the party. After delimitation of constituencies, Nagender contested and won from Khairatabad Assembly constituency in the 2009 elections. He was inducted into the YSR Cabinet for the first time in 2009 and held the portfolio of Health and Medical Services. He continued as a Cabinet minister even in the administration of Konijeti Rosaiah.
