Senior Supreme Court advocate and constitutional expert Pavani Parameswara Rao (84) passed away at New Delhi on Wednesday due to heart attack.
PP Rao was born on July 1, 1933 in Mogalicherla Village, Lingasamudram mandal of Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. He did his B.A. from V.R.College, Nellore and his LL.B. and LL.M from Osmania University.
Before being in the advocate profession, Rao started his career as teaching Law in the University of Delhi Rao. was enrolled as an Advocate with Bar Council of Delhi in 1967 and thereafter shifted practice to the Supreme Court. He was designated as a Senior Advocate in 1976 and was elected the President of Supreme Court Bar Association in 1991 and in 2006. He was awarded the prestigious award Padma Bhushan. He completed his 50 years of legal service in July this year.
