Congress to contest in MLC seats in Telangana

AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh on Monday that Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee leaders will filed party candidates for all 12 seats.

The announcement came after the reports that some TRS leaders held backroom consultations with the Congress leaders reportedly offering three seats against nine for the ruling party. The TPCC president N.Uttam Kumar Reddy, working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Congress Legislature Party leader K.Jana Reddy and Leader of Opposition in the Council Md.Ali Shabbir made it clear that Congress should contest all seats.

Party sources said TRS leaders were willing to have unwritten understanding with the Congress in Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy district and in lieu of supporting the Congress nominees in these three districts, the TRS leadership wanted to the rest nine vacancies.
