The padayatra would reach the project site on January 10. A ‘mass satyagraha’ would be staged on that day at the site. Leader of the Congress in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge would address the meeting.

Vundvalli alleges excess payment:: Meanwhile, former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar has alleged that the State and Union governments are incurring huge losses in the Polavaram project not because of delay in its execution but because of inferior quality of work. He alleged that the Transstroy has claimed more amount than the actual work done and the State government has paid the same. Speaking to media, he said that he was ready to prove both the charges of excess payment to contractor and inferior quality of work if the government sends its representatives to the project site.
