Congress launches final struggle for SCS

APCC president N.Raghuveera Reddy today called upon the people in all walks of life to join their hands in the final struggle for achieving the Special Category Status.

Launching the party’s ‘Andhrula Atmagaurva Deeksha’ in Gudur, he said that the Congress had announced SCS at the time of bifurcation. The BJP-TDP alliance, that came to power later wasted four precious years without doing anything to confer SCS and ensure implementation of the promised multi-crore projects, he said.

Raghuveera said that the party planned to intensify its agitation across the State and in New Delhi in an effort to force the ruling alliance to realize its mistake and concede the singular demand of the people of the State. ‘Protests will also be staged inside Parliament. Senior leader Mallikarjuna Kharge has already given a notice in the Lok Sabha seeking a debate on the issue under Rule 184.

He said that if the Centre’s response was not proper, the Congress would move the no-confidence motion against the NDA government, he said. A rasta-roko would be staged on the NH on March 2 ‘Chalo Parliament’ would be organized in New Delhi from March 6 to 8, he said.
