Chief Minister orders release of Rs.20 crore for Telugu people in distress in abroad

Chief Minister [[Nara Chandrababu Naidu}} who chaired the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society at its maiden governing council meeting today resolved to create a corpus fund of Rs.40 crore for taking care of Telugu people settled abroad.

Chandrababu Naidu ordered that Rs.20 crore should be immediately released to the APNRTS to help the Non-Resident Telugus in distress under the policy. It would benefit about 43,000 members of the APNRTS. He cleared the decks for extending financial help to the NRTs in need especially for those who lost their jobs and to provide an insurance of Rs.10 lakh to members of APNRTS under the scheme.

APNRTS CEO Ravi Kumar Vemuru told the Chief Minister that the Society could get 32 Information Technology companies set up by the NRTs in the State in the last couple of years and 21 more were on the anvil next month. With this, the total employment generated by these IT firms would have reached about 7,000.
