Chief Minister kick-starts Bhogi and Sankranti festival

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has kick-started the State festival at Hotel Marasa Sarovar here.

Speaking to media after inaugurating the food festival at the five-star hotel, Chandrababu Naidu said that the advent of such hotels augured well for the temple city which was transforming into a mega city. He said that a tourism corridor would be developed linking Tirupati with Chennai and Nellore. On the project taken up to develop and beautify 100 lakes and four reservoirs in and around Tirupati, he said it would act as water conservation measure and give impetus to tourism.

Tourism department is organizing Sankranti festivities at Shilparamam, Art campus, painting camps, drawing rangoli, cultural programmes, shopping and kite festival form part of the three day festival.
