Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu slams Jagan Reddy

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu today laid foundation stone for the Kondaveetivagu floodwater pumping scheme near Prakasam barrage.

Speaking on the occasion, he condemned the alleged threatening of Jagan Mohan Reddy to Babu.A. District Collector at the Nandigama area hospital. He said that the Collector and the police were supervising the rescue operations.

As District Magistrate, the Collector could issue an arrest warrant against any person if he feels it is essential for maintenance of law and order. Such are the power of the District Collector whom Jagan threatened to send to central jail. I fail to understand his state of mind’, said Chandrababu Naidu.

Meanwhile, Nandigama police registered a case against Jagan Mohan Reddy and his followers on Wednesday for alleged arguing and threatening doctors at Nandigama hospital.

IAS Officers’ Association condemns'

The IAS Officers’ Association has condemned the alleged threatening of Krishna District Collector Babu.A. by the leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy. The association met under the chairmanship of A.K.Parida at the interim Secretariat on Wednesday and decided to take up the matter with the Chief Minister. Parida said that the Association has taken a serious note of the Mullapadu incident. It was not correct on the part of Jagan Mohan Reddy to threaten the officials who were working for the State. ‘The way Jagan behaved with the District Collector was not proper. How can he tell an IAS officer that he would send to jail?, he asked. Both officers and people’s representatives should respect each other and officials are important part of democratic set-up and belittling them is not good for the system. It would send wrong signals to the people, he said.

Move to hush up the case against Diwakar Travels, says Roja

It may be recalled here that Diwakar Travels bus fell into a culvert killing at least 11 passengers and many injured. Meanwhile YSRCP MLA R.K.Roja on Wednesday referring the Penuganchiprolu bus accident in which 11 passengers were killed on Tuesday took the exception to the way attempts were being made to twist the incident out of shape allegedly to save the skin of political bigwigs. Speaking at a media conference, she accused the government of trying to hush up the case pertaining Diwakar Travels belong to the party MP J.C.Diwakar Reddy and his MLA brother Prabhakar Reddy and recalled of a similar attempt made in the past in a case pertaining to Kesineni Travels of Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani. She dared action against Diwakar Reddy.
