Chandrababu softens his stand on BJP after a call from Rajnath Singh

The Telegu Desam Party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu today soften his stand on BJP in targeting at the latter of its preparedness of moving out of BJP led NDA following a call from BJP National president Rajnath Singh.

When Chandrababu Naidu was holding a crucial meeting of the TDP Parliamentary Party to chalk out a strategy to build pressure on the Centre to address the main grievance of ignoring the State in the Union Budget. Rajnath Singh is believed to have requested Chandrababu not to take any hasty step ad the Central Government understood the State’s problems.

Sources said that the BJP president Amit Shaw would speak to Chandrababu on all issues. From the talk of ‘we will not hesitate to exercise the last option of pulling out of the alliance ‘, till Saturday when they came out of the meeting on Sunday, the TDP MPs spoke of mounting pressure on the Centre to redress our grievance.

Several TDP leaders openly aired their dislike for the BJP and wanted the party to break the alliance. The MPs, who walked in a combative mood emerged with a calm posture and their body language apparently signalled there would not be any fight to finish approach.. The tough posturing in the last couple of days by the TDP fizzled out with the Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Sujana Chowdary saying ‘Don’t talk of divorce, let us talk of marriage only’.

Anakapalle MP Avanti Srinivas said they were ready to resign to protest the interests of the State. The MPs would abide by the decision of the TDP national president, he said. Rajya Sabha member TG Venkatesh said if the Centre fulfils the promises that it had made in whole, the TDP would be friends again and if not, the TDP was ready for anything. Hindupur MP Nimmakayala Kishtappa said the fight would continue. Kesineni Nani said that the party was committed to the development of the State.
