Chandrababu condemns attack on Jagan at late hours

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today evening condemned the attack of YSRCP president and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Jagan Mohan Reddy at high secured Visakhapatnam International Airport.

He said that the government would not tolerate any such attacks and asserted that the government had nothing to do with the attack. At the same time, he said that if anyone tries to create law and order problem taking shelter under the incident will not be tolerated. Dy.Chief Minsiter Nimmakaya Chinarajappa said the police were inquiring into the incident while condemning the attack. Nara Lokesh tweeted ‘Strongly condemn the attack on Opposition Leader@ysjagan garu that happened at Vizag airport. Such cowardly attacks have no place in the modern society”.

Chandrababu questions how can Governor ask for a report:: Chandrababu Naidu sought to know the reason for Governor ESL Narasimhan seeking a report from the DGP instead of asking the State Government to put the facts before him. ‘It is my government. The Governor is only a Constitutional head. What he did is not correct. I want a debate on the role of Governors in the context of the Centre-State relations’, he observed. He alleged that Telangana CM KCR, BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana and JSP president Pawan Kalyan had termed up against the TDP government in condemning the attack and sympathizing Jagan as per a game-plan.

CISF should own responsibility-DGP:: DGP R.P.Thakur said preliminary inquiry revealed that the accused Srinivasa Rao attacked Jagan for publicity. He claims to be a fan of Jagan. The CISF personnel have recovered a 10 page letter and the knife from his possession. The police are enquiring with the CISF as to how the accused managed to carry the knife into the airport. If required, the police would provide additional security to Jagan’, said the DGP. He said that it is responsibility of the CISF as the incident happened on the airport premises.

YSRCP condemns the remarks of DGP:: YSRCP leader Botcha Satyanarayana and Ambati Rambabu condemned the remarks of the DGP. Botch said that the DGP’s statement was irresponsible. It was made to please his political bosses, he said. MP V.Vijayasai Reddy tweeted that the attack was conspiracy. MLA Roja said poison must have been applied to the knife. Former MP Mithun Reddy said attempts were being made to downplay the incident.
