Governor of Telangana and AP ESL Narasimhan reportedly remarked that the comments of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu against his telephonic enquiry directly with DGP R.P.Thakur on attack of Jagan Reddy as ‘uncalled for’ said Raj Bhavan sources said.
Soon after the attack, I spoke to the DGP as I was going out of the State’, the Raj Bhavan sources quoted him. He left for New Delhi on Thursday evening to attend a meeting of the committee constituted by the President on the holistic approach for agriculture development. Chandrababu on Thursday questioned the very institution of the Governor. “What is the Governor’s jurisdiction? How can he call the DGP and seek a report? I am the Chief Minister here and he should ask me”, he said.
On many occasions, I spoke directly to the officials, the Governor said citing his call to the DGP on the killing of Araku MLA Kidari Saveswara Rao and former MLA Siveri Soma. He is said to have expressed surprise at the manner in which he was being faulted asking why no objection was raised when he spoke to Chandrababu on the cyclonic devastation in Srikakulam district. He said that it was his duty to keep track of the law and order situation.
