BJP MLC P.V.N.Madhav took exception to the criticism made by Chandrababu Naidu that the Centre was not extending immediate relief to the cyclone hit Srikakulam district.

He said that the Centre is ready to and would send teams to assess the damage and extend relief liberally. On the relief works, he said, the inter-State Talcher high tension line was restored in 24 hours by the Power Grid Corporation of India and the Rajam-Palasa HT line would be restored by Monday. Because of the works on the high-tension lines, Chandrababu was able to assure the people that power would be restored by Sunday. He said that NDRF teams rushed to the spots within 24 hours and were still working.

BJP MLA P.Vishnu Kumar Raju had toured the cyclone hit areas and party State president Kanna Lakshminarayana was in the area on Dasara, he said. A Central Horticulture Board would visit on October 24 to assess the damaged caused. A detailed report would be sent to the Centre and Home Minister, he said.

Chandrababu Naidu is using a natural calamity for political mileage. Cases were foisted against those seeking relief, he said.
