Candle light rally a success ? police sent Jagan Reddy back to Hyderabad from Airport

Emergency like situation prevailed in the city on Thursday with huge police force were deployed to foil the candle light march at RK Beach organized by YSRCP and supported by various political parties including Congress, CPI, Jana Sena and others.

Jagan Mohan Reddy along with party leaders V.Vijay Sai Reddy, YV Subba Reddy, Ambati Rambabu who accompanied him arrived at Visakhapatnam airport from Hyderabad at around 4.15pm to participate in the candle light rally was detained by police and were not allowed to enter outside Airport. Jagan and other leaders staged a sit-in on the tarmac of the airport and the police forcibly sent them back by an Air India flight at about 7pm. The entire Visakhapatnam Airport was virtually under the police control and passengers with only valid tickets were allowed to enter and barricades were erected at every entry point to obstruct the entry of the party supporters. The City Police commissioner made it clear that they have not given any permission to organize candle rally protest for SCS.

Party senior leader Botcha Satyanarayana and G.Amarnath who tried to reach the RK Beach were stopped midway and taken into custody. Leaders of various political parties including 600 activists of Jana Sena were taken into custody. The busy RK Beach road had a deserted look with only with the presence of uniformed personnel who imposed prohibitory orders. The entire stretch from VUDA park to Coastal battery were taken into police custody.
