Call money racket accused arrested

The Gajuwaka police has arrested Gogineni Sudhakar, a money lender and accused in the call money racket.

The police during the search has seized 72 documents and other incriminating materials. Search is on for another money lender Gogineni Subramanya Venkata Apparao. Cases u/s 420, 384, 509 and 506 r/w 34 of IPC were booked against them.

Additional DCP Ramgopal Nayak and ACP (South) G.B.R.Madhusudhana Rao have supervised the case. The two accused had extended a loan of Rs.15 lakh to K.V.S Prasad of Gajuwaka area by obtaining five blank cheques, blank bond papers and blank non-judicial stamp papers with his signatures affixed on them as surety. They also took two blank cheques from the victim’s wife and forced him to transfer a piece of land in Mehernagar in the name of Apparao by executing a GPA in the Gajuwaka Sub-Registrar’s office on the condition that it would be cancelled after the loan was repaid. The victim has paid Rs.68.40 lakh which was four times the amount he took as loan and wanted the documents returned. He was asked to pay an additional of Rs.30 lakhs towards full and final settlement. The accused abused them and visiting the victim’s house frequently and insulting his wife using parliamentary language. The victim finally lodged a complaint with the police.
